Discovering Christ in the Old Testament

Sermon Text: John 5:39

Introduction: I want to look at Discovering Christ in the Old Testament through a study of
New Testament passages. We need to know that our faith is the most ancient
of all faiths ever taught. The order of a gospel church, the institution of a gospel
church is new, but not its faith. This Bible has a united purpose of exposing us to
the purpose and power of God in the redemption of man through Jesus Christ alone.

1. The Testimony of Scripture:

1. In the Prophets
2. In the Law
3. In The Psalms

2. The Expression of Scripture:

1. Regarding the suffering of Christ
2. Regarding the atonement of Christ
3. Regarding the resurrection of Christ
4. Regarding the first and second coming of Christ
5. Regarding the ministry of Christ
6. Regarding the necessity of belief or faith in him

1. The Surety of Scripture:

1. They are trustworthy
2. They are exact
3. They are revealing
